Jan Zlotnick

Welcome. If you’re into marketing, branding, and creative thinking about life in general, this blog is for you. For me, it keeps me in a rethinking, inventive frame of mind, and slaps my hand away from reaching for predictable answers on a too-convenient shelf.

My story: I’m the chief marketing officer of a global financial services company with headquarters in New York and London. My marketing and branding experience over the past 20 years includes developing strategy and marketing programs for New York advertising agencies servicing brands across all categories. From finance and fashion, to professional photography, healthcare, government, travel and tourism, non-profit, retail banking, and resort destinations. My sweet spot is in brand strategy and creative media development. My tool belt holds market research, ethnography, brand positioning, public relations, creative direction, writing, film production and editing, and management of global teams that implement the strategies and creative ideas that build brand cultures and customer experiences.

My personal story goes back to Washington, D.C. and Rockville, Maryland, before fast-forwarding to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and a cup of post-grad coffee at Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. From Medill, I headed west to work in Los Angeles, where I met my Jersey girl who would make the journey back east with me, and all our journeys ahead, worthwhile.
